What if…
the sky’s not the limit?
Human beings seek meaning.
There’s more to life than work and losing weight. For thousands of years, people have looked up into the night sky forming patterns out of the balls of burning gas millions of light-years away. We’ve tried to discern omens and meaning, blamed technology glitches on near-flung planetary disturbances (which, to our understanding is nonsense), and aligned with others based on planetary configurations at our time and day of birth.
Of all the ways we seek meaning, expertise and mastery are among the most practical and impactful. “Living a life of meaning and of depth requires us to step outside of our comfort zones, to challenge our own ideas and create innovative ways to optimize our time on this earth”.
Flow states allow us to get out of our own way, and to achieve meaningful interaction and progress, true innovation.
How can…
1:1 coaching help me?
High performing people are not accidentally high-performers.
Intentional leadership comes from the constant work to be as skilled in that arena as you are in your area of expertise. To do that requires practice and intention. At Status Flow we talk you through the start of the journey to emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and a state of flow. Once you have processed the initial learning opportunities, the journey begins to really unfold. Like learning any skill, once the foundations are laid, the journey can really begin.
Achieving flow requires steady practice and attention. The 10 flow conditions put forth by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi are as follows:
Concentration / focus
Intrinsic rewards for accomplishing your goals
No feeling of self-consciousness
Liminal time: losing track of time passing
A rapid feedback loop
Skills that align with the task
Control over the situation and the outcome
Lack of physical need (hunger thirst, pain)
No distractions
